TV3 has confirmed it will be showing a free-to-air highlights package of every Toyota Racing Series round, including the New Zealand Grand Prix, the Sunday after each weekend.
The highlights show will be its own segment on the CRC Motorsport broadcast.
CRC Motorsport’s producer Nigel Carpenter confirmed the announcement to Velocity News today.
It follows yesterday’s announcement that Spark Sport had secured the rights to stream every round live on its platform.
However, Spark Sport is a subscription-based service. Its price range, coupled with the need for a steady internet connection, means that it can be an unviable option for some viewers.
Thus, fans will be treated to an extensive SpeedWorks events highlights show of both the headline Toyota Racing Series and support classes. These will be on show the Sunday following each race meeting.
CRC Motorsport has previously been responsible for broadcasting the likes of DTM, British Touring Car Championship and the FIA World Rallycross Championship.
The first highlights package will be of the 66th New Zealand Grand Prix, which this year takes place at Hampton Downs in North Waikato.
A dozen drivers have so far been confirmed for the race, including previous champions Greg Murphy and Ken Smith, and some of the best up-and-coming Kiwi talent such as Kaleb Ngatoa, Billy Frazer and Matthew Payne.
