Kiwi Chris White has his third and final outing in the Monochrome GT4 Australia series this weekend at the Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin.

As the 2025-2026 Bridgestone GR86 Championship winner, White won a seat for three rounds of the series with Garth Walden’s Sydney-based GWR Australia team in its GR Supra GT4 EVO2 alongside Daniel Frougas.

The first round at The Bend proved a challenging exercise for the Christchurch racer, but he dusted himself off and returned for the next round at Queensland Raceway, and it all started to come good with White and Frougas winning the Saturday race outright.

It’s been a steep learning curve for White, but he heads into his final race weekend with the team determined to put what he has learned to good use and to be even more competitive than he was in Queensland.

“I certainly went into the second event with a much clearer mind and just tried to put all the bad luck and poor results from the first weekend behind me and use that as a positive learning experience,” he said.

“A lot of the stuff I’ve learnt so far is in driving technique for these cars, and this is definitely something that is incredibly valuable as I move to more categories and cars that are bigger and more powerful than the GR86.

“A lot of the feel and handling of the GT4s can be translated to cars like the TA2, which I will be driving next season in NZ. The bigger cars are similar in several ways.

“The objective this weekend for me is to finish both races because we have been affected by damage in three of the last four races. When we weren’t – we won. So we definitely have the pace, and honestly I’m just excited for this weekend as it’s another new track for me and another great motor racing experience.”

Action at Hidden Valley gets underway with practice today (Friday). There are two qualifying sessions and the first race on Saturday, with the second race of the weekend on Sunday.
