The Wolfbrook Motorsport Foundation is accelerating into 2026, continuing its mission to nurture and support New Zealand’s next generation of racing stars.

Founded by Wolfbrook Director Steve Brooks, the Foundation offers emerging talent a competitive edge, supplying the latest Toyota GR86 along with up to $50,000 in funding to help cover running costs to compete in the 2025/26 Toyota GR86 season.

By removing financial barriers and providing access to top-tier machinery, the programme gives young drivers the platform to showcase their skills and passion in a fiercely competitive environment.

At the end of 2024, Blake Knowles, the 2023/24 New Zealand Formula Ford Champion, was announced as the lucky recipient of the 2024/25 season scholarship.

In addition to his 2023/24 New Zealand Formula Ford Championship, which he clinched in front of a sell-out crowd at the ITM Taupo Super400 in a final race thriller, Knowles had also been a standout performer in the current South Island Endurance Series season.

The initiative continues to have the backing of respected figures in the motorsport world, including Walkinshaw Andretti United Supercars driver and former Toyota 86 Champion Ryan Wood, as well as James Marshall, owner of James Marshall Motorsport. Their involvement reinforces the Foundation’s commitment to opening doors for promising Kiwi drivers.

Applications are now open, inviting aspiring racers to compete in a brand-new Toyota GR86 this season. You can apply HERE

Brooks, who launched Wolfbrook Motorsport in 2022, has steadily grown his own presence on the track, racing Porsche GT3 Cup Cars in SIERDC and NIERDC before adding an Audi R8 GT3 EVO2 to his garage in 2023.

Last year, he contested events including the GT World Challenge Australia and the Bathurst 6 Hour, while also supporting rising talents such as Ryan Wood and Ronan Murphy, with Wood now co-driving with Brooks in the 2025 GT World Challenge Australia Series.

With the Wolfbrook Motorsport Foundation now in full swing, Brooks is determined to create a clear and well-supported pathway for the next wave of New Zealand racing talent.
