The 24 Red Racing SS Cup heads to Teretonga Park this weekend for Round 3 of the tenth anniversary season.
A strong field of 29 cars will make the long trip south, a clear sign of the series’s commitment and passion. With the championship tightening and a forecast of warm temperatures, scattered showers and strong winds, this round has the potential to reshape the season.

Teretonga is the fastest circuit in the country and regularly mixes the order. Slipstreaming, gusty winds, and multi-class traffic all play significant roles in results.
The changing weather adds another variable, especially with qualifying and race one on Saturday, followed by three races on Sunday.
A Class
Dave McLean (158) arrives as the A Class leader after a commanding performance at Levels. Matt Ryan (65) and Warren Walker (183) are also well placed.

They will be aiming to convert early-season speed into a strong result at a circuit where confidence through the opening sweeper is often rewarded.
B Class
The B Class title fight is one of the closest stories of the season. Jason Kelly (29) leads the class, with Josh Mitchell (82) only a small margin behind after a series of strong results.

Carmen Liemburg (350) and Chris McLeod (96) have both shown consistent pace in mixed conditions, which may suit them this weekend. Brad Rae (662) and Oscar Tatom (360) continue to improve and could benefit from the strong slipstream effect around Teretonga.
Lynden Prebble (902) returns after resolving mechanical issues at Levels and will be aiming to move forward.
C Class
C Class continues to produce some of the closest and most competitive racing within the series.
Marty Russell (27) leads the standings, chased closely by Allan Garnett (53) and Ross Jones (59). Darren Harding (25), Mike McCarthy (247) and Mick Ross (95) are all within reach of the top positions.

With minor point margins across the entire class and Teretonga known for tight packs and high-speed cornering, this round could create significant movement in the standings.
Overall Championship Picture
The overall points table remains close across the field. Several competitors still have their Joker round available, which doubles their points for one selected event. With three races on Sunday, choosing the right moment to activate the Joker could play a significant role in the championship fight.
