Aston Martin is waving farewell to its flagship grand tourer with the most powerful production car it has ever created, the DBS 770 Ultimate.

The model has been in production since 2018 which will soon wrap up, marking an end to the current generation DBS.

To celebrate its end, 499 DBS 770 Ultimates will be made both in coupe or drop top form with production being split into 300 and 199 examples respectively.

Its name is derived from what lays under the bonnet, a 770PS (566kW) and 900Nm twin-turbocharged 5.2-litre V12 that is capable of propelling the car up to a top speed of 340km/h.

To achieve the 33kW increase in power over the standard model, Aston Martin modified the engine’s air intakes and ignition system while increasing boost pressure by 7 per cent.

Said power is fed through a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential mounted at the rear of the car. Shift speed has also been enhanced for the Ultimate.

The car’s standard carbon ceramic brakes have been retained of which the respective 410mm and 360mm front and rear discs should provide plenty of stopping power.

As for the suspension, the driver can expect “heightened” steering feel thanks to an uprated front cross member which improves lateral stiffness by 25 per cent. The adaptive suspension has also been enhanced with a new software tune to soak up the bumps.

Its looks haven’t gone unnoticed either, with the 770 receiving a new bonnet vent and front splitter integrated into the outer vents to provide better cooling.

More carbon fibre can be found all over the car such as on the mirror caps, fender louvres, side skirts, and more. The rear diffuser has also been redesigned.

New 21-inch wheels are available in three finishes which take inspiration from the Valkyrie and Victor models. The multi-spoke design is available in satin silver, satin black, or satin black with a ‘diamond turned’ finish.

The interior remains much the same but with sports seats trimmed in Alcantara while ‘performance’ seats are optional. Unique stitching can also be found inside alongside carbon fibre gearshift paddles and other bespoke additions.

As the cherry on top, each car will be fitted with a unique set of sill plaques, a DBS 770 Ultimate logo, and specific numbering for each car.

Production of the DBS 770 Ultimate is due to commence in the first quarter of 2023, with first deliveries scheduled to begin during the third quarter of 2023.
