KIWIS RACING ABROAD | 7-10 AUGUST WEEKEND PREVIEW 🏁
There is another busy weekend of international motorsport ahead, with Kiwi drivers and riders competing across the United States and Great Britain.
Shane Van Gisbergen headlines the action as the NASCAR Cup Series heads to Iowa Speedway for Round 23 of the championship. With just four races remaining before the playoffs, every point is crucial as the Kiwi continues his rookie campaign.
Portland International Raceway hosts the latest round of the NTT IndyCar Series, with Scott McLaughlin, Scott Dixon and Marcus Armstrong all back in action. The circuit will also host Rounds 11 and 12 of the USF Pro 2000 Championship, where Sebastian Manson continues his season with Turn3 Motorsports.
Over in Great Britain, Cormac Buchanan returns to Moto3 for Round 12 of the world championship at Silverstone as he continues his debut campaign on the world stage.
From NASCAR and IndyCar to junior open-wheel racing and Moto3, there is plenty for Kiwi motorsport fans to keep an eye on this weekend.

Shane van Gisbergen returns to NASCAR Cup Series action this weekend after another encouraging performance at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The Trackhouse Racing driver secured his best-ever Brickyard 400 result with a hard-fought 16th-place finish, recovering from an eventful race that included a bizarre steering wheel incident during an early caution period.
The result helped strengthen his position inside the playoff picture, with van Gisbergen now sitting 15th in the championship standings with a 57-point buffer over the cut line.
With just four races remaining before the playoffs begin, every point is becoming increasingly valuable. The Kiwi now faces the challenge of the tight short oval, where he will look to continue his consistent form and take another step towards securing his place in the championship fight.

Scott McLaughlin, Scott Dixon and Marcus Armstrong return to NTT IndyCar Series action this weekend at Portland International Raceway after a challenging race at Nashville Superspeedway.
McLaughlin led the way for the Kiwi trio in Nashville, fighting at the front throughout the race before securing a strong fourth-place finish. The result continued a solid run of form for the Team Penske driver as he remains firmly in the championship battle.
It was a tougher afternoon for Dixon and Armstrong, with both drivers running into issues that dropped them down the order after strong qualifying performances. Dixon finished 18th, while Armstrong was classified 24th after being forced to retire from the race.
The championship now heads to Portland International Raceway, where the Kiwis will look to bounce back and fight for strong results as the season enters its closing stages.

Sebastian Manson returns to USF Pro 2000 action this weekend at Portland International Raceway after a solid weekend at Mid-Ohio last month.
The Kiwi driver continued to build momentum with Turn 3 Motorsport, recording three top-10 finishes across the weekend. Manson finished eighth in Race 1 before following that up with ninth-place results in both Race 2 and Race 3.
With consistency becoming increasingly important as the season progresses, Manson will be looking to continue his strong run of form in Portland as he continues his campaign in the USF Pro 2000 Championship.

Cormac Buchanan returns to Moto3 World Championship action this weekend at Silverstone for the Grand Prix of Great Britain after a confidence-building result in Germany before the summer break.
The Kiwi rider enjoyed his strongest weekend of the 2026 season at the Sachsenring, showing strong pace throughout the event before securing 13th place in the race and adding valuable championship points.
After qualifying 11th on the grid, Buchanan battled inside the top 10 during the race before tyre issues made the fight for higher positions more challenging. Despite that, the result provided a positive finish heading into the break and a strong platform to build from for the second half of the season.
Now back with CODE BOÉ Motorsports, Buchanan will be aiming to carry that momentum into Silverstone as he continues his Moto3 campaign and looks to challenge further up the field.
