Peter Vodanovich, Brock Timperley and Rowan Shepherd will join Toyota 86 regular Jaden Ransley as the four New Zealand drivers set to tackle the inaugural virtual TCR Australia series.

TCR ace Shepherd will pilot an Audi RS 3 in tonight’s season opener around a virtual Albert Park while the remaining kiwi trio will all race the Hyundai i30.

Recently crowned ARG eSport Cup champion Ransley will have the added benefit of being teamed with Hyundai TCR junior and defending Australian champion Will Brown at the HMO Customer Racing outfit for the seven-round series.

However, unlike the ARG eSport Cup, the virtual series is restricted to only TCR New Zealand and Australia competitors with 13 entries confirmed.

Among the Australian contingent include ex-Bathurst 1000 winner Jason Bargwanna and TCR regulars Tony D’Alberto, Dylan O’Keeffe and John Martin.

As reported earlier, the virtual competition will run on the popular Assetto Corsa platform with six Australian rounds before a unique season-finale on the Macau Grand Prix circuit.

There will be a significant prize pool on offer for the overall winner which includes free entry into any real-life TCR round of the driver’s choice.

All rounds will be streamed live via the official TCR Australia YouTube channel with tonight’s opening event set to kick off from 10 pm NZT.
