Todd Foster aiming for step forward in third Toyota 86 season

Todd Foster has confirmed he will join the Best Bars Toyota 86 Championship for a third season, returning to the International Motorsport team.

After collecting several top ten finishes last season, Foster aims to continue moving up the grid in the upcoming championship.

“I enjoy the learning process and last season we were able to be more competitive and get into that mid-field, where the battling is intense,” Foster said.

“My focus will remain on learning as much as I can and continuing to hone my racecraft and build pace.

“It’s going to be a big field next season and that just makes it all the more exciting. A bigger field means keeping out of trouble and being as consistent as possible. Those will be critical so that will be the focus.

On top of having greater familiarity with the tracks on the calendar, Foster approaches this season with improved racecraft, data, and confidence

“I have enough experience now to be able to balance patience and aggression. Even though these are sprint races it’s important to be patient and not always jump on the first opportunity to pass. Experience can help keep the bigger picture in perspective and every point in this championship will matter next season, it’s going to be that competitive for sure.

“I’ve enjoyed the fitness work and as we move closer to the start of the season my focus will shift to revisiting data and on-boards from previous seasons. That, combined with hopefully some testing if the alert levels allow it will mean I arrive at round one fully ready to go and be up to speed quickly.”

Category organisers expect to have at least 22 cars, fighting for the biggest prize in the series history.

The season will start at Hampton Downs Motorsport Park November 12-14.
